Yes — the full app is free forever: chat, Workflows, Memory Hub, local model management, and 6 built-in connectors ready to go. Pro ($9.99/month) only adds the rest of the connector catalog; it's not required to use Aegis.

Not by default. Chat and agent runs execute locally through llama.cpp on your own CPU or GPU — no API key, no cloud inference, no request sent anywhere unless you explicitly connect something remote yourself.

No. Models run locally, so there's no per-token bill — not for a single chat message, not for a workflow that runs a hundred times a day. The only recurring cost in Aegis is the optional Pro connector catalog, unrelated to model usage.

Apple Silicon (M1 or later). There isn't an Intel build yet.

Aegis is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple, so that shouldn't happen — if you see the standard "downloaded from the internet, are you sure?" prompt on first launch, that's normal for any downloaded app and not a warning about Aegis itself.

It checks, but it doesn't install anything silently. Open the Dependencies panel and it'll tell you if a newer version is out, with a direct download link — you still choose when to grab it and reinstall.

Connect it yourself from the Connectors page — search the public MCP registry, install straight from a GitHub repo, point at a hosted URL, or paste a raw config. Still can't find it? Email us and we'll look into building it.

Yes — it's billed monthly with no long-term contract. And since Free already includes every core feature, canceling just means losing the extra connectors, not the app.
